Holiday Activities in Northern Colorado

THANK YOU to all who came out for our Hot Cocoa Party in Downtown! If you’re anything like us, that is a family favorite event, and we are glad it happens to early on in the season! So, even though this blog may feel early to some of you, it never hurts to be prepared to know where to go to see some killer lights this time of year! Whether you’re a local or visiting during the holidays, here are some of the best places see Christmas Lights and Do Holiday Activities in and around Fort Collins and Northern Colorado.

 

1. Old Town Fort Collins

The Holiday Lights in Downtown are back! Make a dinner reservation, head downtown, and get that window seat so you can enjoy the festive lights. Take a stroll down College Avenue after dinner and grab a sweet treat from Kilwin’s or Walrus! 2. The Gardens on Spring Creek



The Gardens on Spring Creek puts on a stunning holiday display with the Garden of Lights. This amazing light show features more than 50,000 lights, along with other themed displays throughout the gardens. It’s a perfect spot for families and anyone who enjoys a peaceful, picturesque light walk. The event usually runs through December, so it's an easy way to enjoy the season’s glow. Grab a bite to eat, bring a Warm Drink, and head over to the Garden of Lights. This year's public dates are Thursday, 12/5 - Sunday, 12/8, Thursday 12/12 through Sunday 12/15, Thursday 12/19 through Monday 12/23, and Thursday 12/26 through Sunday 12/29. General pricing for adults and kids 12 years of age and older is $12, children from 5-11 years of age are $8, and children 4 and under are FREE! 3. NoCo Winter Wonderland Drive Thru Lights – November 28- Dec 31st


This one is awesome, and you can do it while staying warm and cozy from the comfort of your car! We often get the kids in PJ’s and bring a festive snack to enjoy while we mosey through this display. NoCo Winter Wonderland is put on by Colorado Youth Outdoors. If you watch closely, you can spot Five of Colorado’s Big Game Species! 4. CHANGE this year in Timnath –

The Timnath Holiday Festival on Dec 7th 12-2pm! In Previous years, The City of Timnath has done a Holiday Festival on Main Street Timnath. Because of the street’s limited space,  they have moved this festival to Timnath Community Park this year! They will have Holiday Vendors, Time to meet Santa, Ice Sculputures, and more! There is also a Scavenger Hunt that you can participate in as well as another opportunity to meet Santa at the Presbyterian Church (different dates and times here.)  More Info Here: https://timnath.org/holidayfestival/

 

 

5. Festival of Lights – Downtown Loveland! November 22, 5-8pm Loveland has its own little kickoff of the Holiday Season as well! This one will have a Tree Lighting Ceremony, Festive Vendors, Carriage Rides, Santa, and more! This year they have added a sweet addition to the event called the “Floats on Fourth.” There will be Stationary Floats on Fourth Street for you and your family to walk through up close! Finally, there is also a Scavenger Hunt that you guys can do if you get bored.. which seems highly unlikely! Info Below.

6. Lights at Chapungu Sculpture Park! Nov 23rd – Jan 1st, 4.30-9pm

Loveland’s Chapungu Sculpture Park is an awesome and free place to take the kids. This annual display features over 200,000 lights illuminating the park and its sculptures, offering a fun and unique light experience. They also have Live Nights on Saturdays 4.30-8.30pm. This features music, live reindeer, ice sculpting, and more! This is located behind the Shops at Centerra! Info here

 

7. Windsor Wonderland! December 7th, 4-7.30pm



Windsor has their own festive event, Windsor Wonderland, at Boardwalk Park on Dec 7 4pm-7.30pm! Windsor’s bringing Santa, as well as some live music, and holiday activities. Check this one out here.
